I've read that a baby died in 2009 and 2011. I haven't heckled on the stats some then as it bothers me. And yea, I'm not worried about all the ways babies die, I just do my best to keep LO safe.

All of this is exactly what I think I would have done had I known sooner. But I still don't have the guts to say anything...

This! If the babys sitting in the seat part or in the basket then they would fall regardless of where they were.

Quoting T&A[+1]♥:" The carseat clicks onto the cart. How is this unsafe? I'm confused."

This. My carseat is a graco snugride 30 and the part that clips the carseat into its base in my car is also the one that clips over the grocery cart. The first time i sat it on the cart and it clipped on, I had a hell of a time trying to get it off! Why I didn't pull the release like i do when its in the base is beyond me. I felt dumb when i figured out how to get it off.

I'd tell you to mind your own f**king business if you came up to me and said something... You shouldn't bother yourself worrying about other people's parenting choices. It's not your place.

I guess I'm the opposite of everyone.. I would be glad someone corrected something I was doing that could put my child in harm. But then again I never stuck my sons carseat on top of a cart.

I'm the same way, as long as its presented with the obvious desire to just provide info and let me decide and not trying to tell me what to do. I think most people can spot a genuine heart.

Yeah most people who try to correct my parenting don't do it in a genuine way. But that's okay because those were things I wasn't going to change anyways. :P

I wish I could say something every time I see it. If someone would have told me about it (I did it a couple times before I knew better), I would have moved his car seat and would have been thankful for the advice.

I don' think people are trying to tell anyone how to parent or anything, just looking out for the safety of the babies.

Thank you! But I'm still not going to say anything to people I don't know. I just don't want to deal with the possible confrontation that this thread has shown could happen. I just came to terms with the fact that its not my fault if something happens to a baby. Parents have the warnings in front of them already.

oh i checked my HEB cart today an it has nothing on the label illustrating its dangerous to put babies on top....it only says warning not to put the child inside the cart or stand up in the cart ,,,an it shows the correct way of buckling and the child sitting ...nothing on the car seats ...

Not all carts have the warnings, but the manual for your seat would have information.
