I didhn't do rice cereal, there's no reason to. I tried cereal at 6 months but she didn't like it, so we just did BLW.

Never, it has no nutritional value and is not easily digested by babies. I use avocado as a first food and start around 7-8 mths when they show signs of rediness.

With my son I was young and dumb and let my mom convince me to try it with him at 3 months. He got an upset belly and I put my foot down and said no more. We did pureed green beans at 7 months and he did really well.

With my youngest we started adding a tiny bit to breast milk and fed with a spoon around 4.5 months just for practice, but by 6 months fruits and veggies reigned. Now at 10 months he's on mostly table foods, anything we eat but still breast fed. He LOVES his yogurt and quinoa though :)

I've rarely seen a baby that doesn't love some yogurt. It's a great food.

maybe because at only 3 months his digestive system wasn't mature enough yet, and at 7 months he was able to handle solids then?

where did you get this information...is it from doctors? or some other well researched reputable source? I'd like to see it.

starch is all it really is, which IS very easily digested but because of that it can cause constipation. So if you are going to use it, use it sparingly!!

where did this hippy-granola fad of baby led weaning come from? did some hippy mom write a book about it, Oprah said it was a must read, and now all the moms these days do it? theres nothing wrong with starting a baby once they are ready on an iron fortified single grain cereal. How did babies ever survive before this BLW? they all did just fine with starting on cereal and then moving to pureed veggies, fruits and meats. They will eventually be eating regular food just like us so what is the rush to have them gum up chunks of food?

Obviously what I was pointing out. He was my first and I didn't know any better. How about you take your judgmental ass somewhere else?
