I wonder if it stems from the wealthy people hundreds of years ago that would have a wet nurse feed their infants instead of doing it themselves? I was just wondering myself why there is such a stigma attached to breastfeeding in current times. Maybe that idea that breastfeeding meant you were a lower class just hasn't fully gone away.

yeah, cause processed, sugary, COW's milk compares to fresh unprocessed human milk specifically made for your child.

You may have something there, I didnt think of that. I'm sure a big part of it lately is because women's breasts are so sexualized.

I think part of it too is when formula really got big (what, in the 70's/80's) that it became the norm for so many years and now that breastfeeding is making a come-back, it's hard for people to adjust.

I read something on yahoo today about how they shouldn't be recommending three servings of milk a day because it's just too much sugar and there are plenty of other ways to get calcium. And probably some other reasons but I don't remember. My work computer won't let me read your link.

Milk is so good tho. I can't read why it's bad. Even if I did I'd still drink it lol

When I was bfing I had plans to bf my son til he was 2 1/2 and when I told people that's how long I wanted to bf I got all kinds of rude comments and dirty looks unfortunately my milk flow didn't come in real well so my son had to do half bf and half formula. He weaned himself off at 5 months or so I felt like a failure. I really hope with baby #2 I will have no issues with bfing. I don't think there is anything wrong with bfing your toddler. Screw them ppl...who cares what they think.
