If you were doing a pee test and your pee was really dehydrated and concentrated could you add water to it or would the doctors know? Don't even ask why I was wonder these things lol.

it would still read as dehydrated because it would have ketones

*realized ketones is for diabetics, there is a word I am looking for here that I cant recall, but its not ketones. Protein maybe? f**k i dont know, dehydrated urine has something in it its not supposed to

That's a really good question. You got me sitting here stumped cause I'm not really sure. I would think if you just added a little water they might not know. But if a lot was added, it might dilute "normal" readings for things, raising a red flag.

If a person was going in for a diagnosis of some sort, I don't think it would be in their best interest to water down the sample. Dehydration is not good for the body but the misreading of levels due to dilution would be way worse.

Where's that nurse on here lol. You know, the lady from Mexico I think (soontobegorda? I think that's what her bg name is). Anyway she knows everything :) I'm almost tempted to send her a pm and ask her this very question lol

haha theres a lot of nurses on here! what really got me wondering was because when i was pregnant, when i went in for my check ups my pee was always so concentrated looking...but its ALWAYS been that way and im not really dehydrated. the nurses take one look and it and are like ...i was always tempted to add a little water just to get them to stop giving me that look! lol, but i never did

Yeah I know what you mean! It's been like that with me too, for all of them. And its really embarrassing (for me anyway). It would be sweet if there was a way to make it less "extreme" looking LOL :)
