My two kids birthdays are a month about, roughly. I was was thinking of not throwing a party for my soon to be 4 year old (we'll just do a cake) and then invite people over for my soon to be 1 year old. Reason being is that I live 2-3 hours away from family (both mine and SO's) so I know everyone wouldn't want to do that drive twice.
And if they have gifts for my oldest, the can bring it on my youngest birthday and give them to her then.
Logical?

i would do it the other way around. that would hurt the 4 year olds feelings, while the 1 year old couldn't care less.

while it may be logical to us adults who have to drive and pay. it wouldnt be fair to your 4 yr old that would see the LO getting all this attention while she didnt get anything but cake. cant you throw a party in the middle and have it for both kids.. that way they both get the attention at the same time and the people only make the trip once.
