get pregnant after mirena diiamondchula 18 kids; Toms River, New Jersey 754 posts

DH and I plan on ttc after I finish school and also around the time my mirena is due to be removed. I hear mix reviews about conceiving after getting the mirena removed. Some people take a while to get pregnant while it seem very few that I hear of getting pregnant right away. I will be 26 when I get the mirena removed. My DH think I should get it taken out a year early so all those crazy hormones can leave my body but idk if that is a good idea. What is your viewpoint? Also I'd you had mirena Ans ttc how long did it take?

I had mine out in May and accidentally got pregnant in October, so it didn't take long for me.

I got mine taken out 4/27 and got a BFP 6/5. Didn't take long and haven't had any issues.

Good luck.

I had mine taken out after 6 months in 2010. We ttc for 5 months after that and nothing happened. My periods are just now finally getting back to normal and it has been 3 years and 1 miscarriage since having it.

I got mine out the beginning on March and got a BFP at the end of March, but then miscarried at 6 weeks. Looking back I wish I had waited at least two cycles but I was too damn impatient.

See that's what I am scared about. I've had mine in for a couple years too.

I had mirena removed Feb 19, 2013. Got pregnant 3 months later... I think it can take a few cycles for your uterus lining to rebuild to be able to hold Onto baby well enough. Since that's where they have to attach to you. If that makes sense. At least that's what I read about it. It took me two cycles to rebuild mine but I only had it for One year.

Do you think my husband was right when he said I should have my mirena taken out a year in advance so my body can get back to normal?

I don't think it will take a year... But that depends on every woman differently. My doctor Warned me not to have sex unprotected unless I wanted a baby. Some women get pregnant in the same month! It's crazy. Do you have periods with it in right now? That might matter. I had all of mine. So I must have been ovulating.... You having yours??

I get them once every six to eight months sometimes even longer. Also I've had blood clots because of my uterus lining shedding (doctor said sometimes that's normal)

You should definitely talk to your significant other about it more, in case you take it out a year early, and get pregnant sooner than planned... If that's okay then yea go ahead and get a head start on recovering.

I got my Mirena taken out April of 2012 after having it for only 15 months. It's been 15 months and still no pregnancy :( my periods are so wacky now, one like every 4 months :(

I had the marina in for nearly 4 years & had a regular 29 day cycle once marina was removed. It took me 4 months to get my bfp but sadly had a m/c in December due to blighted ovum at 9 weeks pg :(

That's how my periods were after having it out. They were between 50-60 days long. After I had my miscarriage I went back to a 33-34 day cycle. No baby yet though.

It's been common for my cycles to be like 80 days long. When I was younger, I once went 10 months with AF (and was not pregnant, still a virgin at the time). Hopefully my cycles will regulate and I'll get my BFP soon :)
