Quoting JiLLiAN.:" yeah but your cost of living is higher, too, right? SO works on a lot of canadian cars, one guy he ... [snip!] ... he was talking to said tax is 17%, and here we complain because it's 8-8.75% (differs by county), and is 4-4.75% on clothing."

Yeah but really it all evens out in the end. It's 10.25/hr usually. Students I think it's 9.45 or something?

We pay 13% I believe.... GST & HST

I think the only thing we don't really pay taxes on is groceries. Children's clothes are only like 6% but everything else... yeah. It's f**king ridiculous. If you buy something that's like 100$ expect to be paying 115 fuckin dollars

I guess min. wage is supposed to be going up to $9/hr. People don't seem to understand though, that with the increase, cost of living will increase. No one is getting ahead from it, you know?

They already try and trick people by keeping prices the same, and then decreasing the size of the package (foods, mainly). Look how small cartons of ice cream have gotten - and I feel like buying it is expensive, but if you think about it, if you go out for ice cream, you usually spend $3-4 PER CONE. It's just insane.

If only we could go back to times before credit cards...

Yeah, special cones range from $1-2 more. We went to Niagara Falls last weekend (even though we've been there a million times) it was the first time we walked over the rainbow bridge so it was pretty cool. But, it's just crazy up there. I was going to get Starbucks and a tall was over $6. No, thank you! But, I did pay over $3 for a little bag of skittles and a kit kat (i love your candy!)
