Leaking breast milk.. Diandra Smiley 1 child; Salt Lake City, Utah 22 posts

I just had my baby girl a week ago and have been breastfeeding her since then. She is such a hungry baby lol that now my breast are leaking a lot. I was wondering how I could better cope with this because I can not wear a bra at all and I leak while I sleep so my tops that I wear are constantly soaked. I'm considering a hand pump because now she seems to sleep more than the first few days we brought her home. I've heard leaking can sometimes go away after my baby and I get into a good feeding routine.. I just want to be able to go out and run errands without leakage or be able to maintain it when I'm wearing a bra :/

Why can't you wear a bra?

Start wearing a bra and put nursing pads in, also get a sports bra or a loose nursing bra for night time and wear nursing pads at night too.

I just pump what is leaking out and try not to encourage more to come in.

I am no BF expert, but wouldn't pumping encourage production?

You are still adjusting to how much milk to make for your baby. I would find a nice fitting bra (sports bra, etc.), and wear nursing pads. Once your hormones balance out, you will still "leak" but won't be dripping as you are now.

I only breastfed my DD for 6 weeks, pumped for an additional 5weeks---my only experience.

Get breast pads and put them in your bra, they are pretty cheap at walmart.

The bras I have tend to make my breast run like a leaky faucet lol but I'll try the sports bras and check Walmart for pads. Thanks ladies(:

ENGORGED BREAST;my right breast has been engorged for probably a week now..at first I noticed redness on the inner side of my breast above the areola.. a couple days later there was a lump on the lower right under-side of my breast..but just this evening I noticed multiple lumps above my areola, like chest area and I'm wondering ig if this is normal? I've never felt them there before so it concerns me..
