My son is 2 months old, he was born at 35 weeks but was already a healthy 7.11oz. He came home breastfed but due to my blood pressure meds I had to switch to formula. He has had really hard poops since he was 3 weeks old, but he was a healthy eater until recently. For the past week or so he hasn't been interested in eating. He can go 6 hours at a time, and only eat 2-3.oz MAX . He used to drink 5 every 3-4 hours. I have been keeping tack and he is only eating about 15oz a day, that can't be good. He's 10lbs...He also gags. EVERY time he eats, I checked the nipple flow and its fine. He also vomits atleast 2-3 times after every feeding. When he does poop its always really hard. I'm getting nervous. I made and appt. but they didn't have anything until next week. Am I over reacting?

They don't have any acute care appointments earlier?

I would assume casein allergy, he may be so constipated and backed up that he's throwing up. Call a different office and bring him there or bring him to urgent care?

They have an ER. I think I am taking him in. When I called the nurse she said the ER wasn't necissary because he pooped last nite.

your dr should have put you on bp meds that are ok with breastfeeding. I would call his pedi and see what kind of advice they can give you over the phone before going to an er. my oldest son had to be prescribed something because he was so constipated. i hope he feels better...
