Do you choose a name that sounds well with the names of your other children?

My kids are Alexa, Isabella and William--so I feel like something like say, Finn, would sound funny, being more "modern" if you will. Am I crazy for feeling this way? What boy/girl names do you think would sound good with my other kids?

I think William and Finn are good sibling boy names.

Personally, I think William and Finn sound fine together.

Sibling names never crosses my mind, with the exception of not wanting matchy matchy names, like Stephen and Stephanie or something (no offense to anyone if those are your kids names lol)

That's why I've had such a problem naming this baby... my son is Kenneth and I wanted something that was at least in kinda similar taste. I'm still not 100% if Kenneth and Lydia "go together" but Lydia feels right for her.

Totally agree, I declined Lachlan b/c I already have a Brayden and an Ethan and it just sounded like too much already. ( also my hubby's name is Brandon. ) Apparently i'm as insane as my mother, I have sisters named Tiffany and Stephannie.... And I don't think that Finn is very modern. I'm pretty sure it's an older name, just wasn't popular in North America.

Thanks :) I liked Brynn for a looooonnnnnnng time but I think it's too out there paired with a classic name like Kenneth personally. Plus Lydia feels more like her anyway.

My mom says it sounds too grown up. So I just look at her and go "right, cuz Kenneth isn't a grown up name...." plus I'd rather have a grown up name on a child than a child's name on an adult.

EXACTLY! we almost named our daughter Zoe Irelynn, but the name Zoe was just to little girlish. So we named her JosieAnn Marie.

Honestly I think William is the odd one out with Alexa and Isabella. Finn or Finley kind of ties William in together.

We went with similar origination. One is Welsh and one is Scottish.
