Spanish/English BOY names? Ehem Due November 9 (boy); 1 child; Cedar Rapids, Iowa 19 posts

I am Caucasian and BD is Hispanic. He's suggested named that are more culturally familiar to him, but they're all a bit too unfamiliar to me. Looking for BOY name suggestions that are used in both cultures.

So far, I like Julian and Donavan, but BD ONLY likes Carlos, which I wouldn't mind using as a middle name if I can't get used to using it as a first name. DD is Audrie Claire.

So weird, I was just searching this site for the SAME thing  Lol, I am white and DH is Mexican. For a girl we really like Elena, but we are stuck for boys. I love the names Manuel, Diego, and Andres, but DH said no because he has cousins with those names :x

I made a comment to a friend about how I don't want something too "typical" Mexican. I didn't mean it that way, but when I told people it was boy, they made jokes about how I might as well name it Carlos or Jose. I don't know why white people think that's so funny. I want to think of something that is more original(?) maybe.

People are always gonna make those jokes. Typical- Jose and Juan, sometimes Pedro. I just laugh. We don't want typical names either, just something less used and easy to say for his parents and mine.

Elias.

My hubby is also hispanic, South American.... and I'm very much a gringa.

ETA: We were going to use Elias if this baby turned out to be a boy.... well, SHE is going to Eileen Esther.

His name is Juan and tried to make the argument that his middle name is Carlos, but actually, it's not. It's a middle name alias that people have given him because they call him Juan Carlos. People also jokingly call him Jose. It's just silly and not a stereotype I want to indulge people in..

We're hispanic and our sons name is Eric. Don't name your kid that because all the hispanic people will pronounce it like "eddie"

Oh, shoot lol. We thought about Charles because it's the English version of Carlos. But I'm not too crazy about that either.

I'm mixed native American and my husband is Mexican our son first name is Mateo-Victor and none of ky family and friends have a hard time pronouncing his but a lot if my family members are married to Hispanic ppl anyway. If our last baby was going to be a boy we were looking at Roberto, Elian and Anthony

I was recently told that Henry is the English "version" of Enrique...both of which are names that I like.

Also, GABRIEL....I love that name, but my husband said he had too many hispanic friends named Gabe growing up to see it as a crossover name...
