Pounds Per Week/Month? Chicago Mayflower Mommy Due March 16; 20 kids; Arizona 1983 posts11th Jul
I have 2 boys and gained a TON of weight with them because I figured with my first, I'd just lose the weight ASAP because I never had trouble doing that before - boy was I in for a shock...it took me 13 months and only 5 months with my 2nd. Anyway, I'm 4 weeks, 3 days pregnant with my 3rd child and I'm at 156. I know the recommended weight is 25-30 lbs I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) but how much weight per month (being you gain the most during your 6th month of pregnancy) should you gain? I mean of course it would be easy to divide it by "9", but I know people who didn't gain anything until their 2nd trimester. Is that a normal thing? Thanks!

I had a very weight conscious doctor who told me no weight until 16 weeks and then 1lb a week. However I read all the time that it's very common to gain 3-6 lbs in the first trimester and then .5 a pound a week until the 22week or so and then .5-.75 of a pound until 34 weeks when it's common to gain 1-2 lbs a week

My OB told me to just gain the normal 25-30lbs. I am 5ft even and started my 2nd pregnancy at like 175lbs..I ended up only gaining 9lbs through the whole thing though. I think it is supposed to be a pound a week when you get into your 2nd trimester? Idk for sure, but my drs weren't concerned bc DD was measuring perfect and so was I

OK, thank you ladies! I'm just afraid of gaining too much because we were planning our wedding when I found out we were expecting, thus, are putting it off until after our baby is born and I want to be back at a size 8 within a few months.
