Feeling sad :( treann79 33 kids; Wisconsin 1189 posts

I am 12 days pp and have an almost 5 year old who is having some issues. He loves his new little brother, but has been getting so angry over little things that he never got angry over before. I made special time with him today to play games. He lost a game and just started hitting his toy. I told him to go in his room and that it is not fun to play with him when he acts this way. I told him if he continues to hit or try to break his toys when he is mad then they will be sent to Good Will or given to children who will appreciate them. After he was in his room I told him he needed to pick up the entire game, straighten the shoes and pack his bag for Grandma's. (he was going there anyway, but I am so glad for the little break!)
It just makes me so sad that he is being like this. I feel bad because he is use to just mommy for almost 5 years so I know it's hard, but I can't stop crying. I just feel awful. Where did my sweet little boy go? I don't know what else to try. It is hard because I have taught this age for 8 years so I have tried so many things, but for the life of me can't figure out how to handle my own child. :( I am so sad right now.

Each one of my kids did this after the new baby came along. They just want the attention good or bad. It started getting back to their self after a couple of months.
Good luck...

Thanks, that is what I am hoping. I know last year after losing our baby he got really angry too. I think with my hormones and all that on top of it is just making it seem so much worse. And he is such a good kid for the most part...I have to remember that he isn't even 5 yet...
