Circ gone wrong? lamr - 02-08-13-21 2 kids; Crazytown, ON, Canada 5963 posts

No anti-circ comments please.

My son is 3.5 and has always been chubby. Since he was a tiny baby, his p***s has always been tucked away because of his fat pad. I've always pushed down, washed it and that was that.

He just started pooping on the toilet, so he likes me to sit on the stool in front of him. Today he was playing around, peeing a little bit here and there. His p***s was out and dangling, longer than I've seen before. Hard to describe, but I noticed his skin doesn't come completely off his mushroom top, but is still over the rim. I didnt push on it (or touch it at all at the time) but is this a bad circ that they didnt take enough off? Is he going to have to get this fixed? My youngest sons isnt like this and he has no skin on his head.

Can I push it back or is it like a noncirc where I have to leave it?

Thanks.

Take him to the dr and ask. There are a lot of times that the skin can start growing back on it no matter how much you take care of it.

Sometimes with circ's, the skin starts to adhere to the tip of the p***s. Normally the pedi checks for this and if it's too much, he pulls it back. If it was a baby, normally you'd just pull it back and put some vaseline around the head of the p***s to prevent it from sticking again. Not sure about what to do if they're 3 though. I can't see them being willing to let you do that to them.

This happened to my nephew, the skin became connected again. My mother took him to the peditrician and retracted the skin. She had to care for it as if he had been circd again. :( poor baby.

Ugh, I hope not.

I'll call the doc on Monday.

Thanks. He's not a fan of anyone touching his p***s so this should be quite interesting.

Sometimes a "loose" circ is done. So if the skin isn't connected and you don't want it changed it is perfectly fine. Some doctors just like to leave more growing room than others. It's better to take too little than too much, ya know?

DH is circed and when he's soft you can't see the tip of his p***s at all. Maybe it's just the way your doctor did the circ?

I thought that all along, but it looked quite tight when it saw it today. I'll try and get a better look tomorrow.
Thanks :)
