Gluten-free beach food Adriana's Mami♥ +1 Due December 14 (boy); 33 kids; Ontario 3858 posts

So far in this pregnancy I fell off my gluten-free diet (I'm intolerant but up until now it seemed to have gone into remission) anyway my stomach has been killing me the last few days. I'm going to the beach all day in an hour and I need to stop at a grocery store and find myself something simple to eat there.... Any suggestions? It's 6 am here, my brain isn't working yet and google is only pulling up meals I have to cook.

I'd just take fresh fruits and veggies and beef jerky or something. Is beef jerky GF?

I doubt it, usually stuff like that has gluten in it :( I'm definitely taking fruits and veggies but it won't fill me up for the day.. Blah lol hopefully something catches my eye at the store.

You could take the unhealthy route and get GF cookies

Instant salads. Fruit salads. Cut up veggies. Sneak some GF cookies. We have an entire GF section here and it has lots of goodies and instant foods. Maybe just peruse the GF section (if you have one in your local shop) there's bound to be some snacks and treats there. Sesame bars, cashew and honey bars, almond and honey bars (my snacks during days) they are all GF (you may have something similar there)

I've just began a gluten free diet and found sooo many snacks and stuff.. I'm amazed at how many thing were actually GF. :)

Oh I know there's tons of snacks in stores in the section but I've been craving meals lately, deli sandwiches and things I can't have :(. I was on the diet for about a year before I got pregnant and just ate whatever I wanted!

Yes there are but most have to be kept frozen. When they're the room temperature kind I find they don't taste good.

When my daughter was eating gluten free, she didn't like the bread either. Until I started toasting it before I made a sandwich. Maybe that would help you as well?

I can't toast at the beach lol, it's just for today I'm having trouble with what to buy. I'll probably try to find a premade chicken salad or something else I can keep in the cooler.

You can't toast bread at the beach...wth! ;) You could toast it before you go to the beach. I would do that for dd for her school lunch.

Gf bread gets hard as a rock if toasted and not eaten immediately, at least any kind I've ever tried! I bought snacks but I had a normal sandwich... So bad lol but I had no reaction.

I'm too late now but turkey or ham and cheese rollups or lettuce wraps with chicken or tuna salad or even lunch meat and cheese
