Im not pregnant yet, but i've always had it in my mind what I wanted to name my kids. I have a DD, and I named her the name that I fell in love with years ago. If I have a son, I want to name him Aiden. But it's so incredibly popular. I don't want him to be one of many Aidens in the class... Kind of like the name Michael was when I was in school.. or Jessica... I really love the name, but idk....

I wouldn't use it. You could use it as his middle name so you still get to use it. I wouldn't call him it, though.

I loved, loved, loved the name Aiden. But my late-fiance wanted to name him George because it meant a lot to him, so I agreed. After he was born, I saw how popular the name Aiden is, and I'm just really glad I didn't use it.

Same goes for the name Nora. Ever since I was a small child, I wanted to have a daughter and name her Nora. My sister ended up using the name for my youngest niece (like two years after my son was born) and now I see/hear it everywhere, so I'm kind of glad I didn't get to use it.

It is popular, but if you love it...use it! Our son's name is Ryan...talk about popular. The year he was born it was #4 on the Top 100 lists [often in the top 20]. BUT, he's 9yo & going into 4th grade and he's NEVER had another Ryan in his class...I'm sure there has been other Ryan's in his grade, but not class. Same for the sports or lessons he's taken...

And I just can't imagine him being anything other than Ryan.

I love his name. I also love Nora. It's on my list.

Ryan wasn't in the top 10. That could be why he hasn't met too many.

I still love Nora. Despite it's popularity, I probably still would have used it (if my sister hadn't used it for my niece). But at the same time, I've loved it for so long, that it's kind of fun to go through baby names and find something new to love.

But I don't even know if I'll have more kids, haha.

My husband wants a longer Nora name. You could possibly do that. My favorite is Honora/Annora. There's also Eleanor/Eleanora, Leonora/Lenora.

I just did a quick search and the first page that popped up said #4...#12 is still incredibly popular...thanks for looking it up! My point to the OP is...popularity or other peoples opinions shouldn't dictate what you name your child. Especially, since it seems Aiden is loosing popularity anyways and by the time she uses it, who knows what it's actual popularity will be...
