Deuteranomaly is the most common type for females. That's Red/green colourblindness.

But, she probably is just not ready to grasp colours completely yet. That'd be so horrible for someone as artistic as your family to have something like colour-blindness. So i really hope that's not the case!

It's totally manageable. I haven't really faced any issues with it in my life. I know the difference between which colors are which. I have a cousin, who is 27, and just found out he was color blind. He had no earthly idea, and it hasn't affected him one bit.

I dated a guy that was color blind. He knew what the stop lights were on because of the order of the three lights. But at night time if he couldn't see the whole thing, just the bright light, he didn't know what it was. The first time we were driving at night and he went "Is that red or green" I was like OMG, let me drive haha

It depends on the severity and whether you are red/green or blue/green. I don't have any issues with reds or yellows so that makes driving easy. But when you have issues with 2 of the 3 on there I could see the difficulty.

he said he knows what the colors are because it's what people told him they were as a kid. But what colors he actually sees is different. He says he can't tell what some colors are if they look too close to another. Like orange, is it red or pink? to him. And like teal, blue or green? He doesn't know. His mom labeled his clothes for him sometimes but he pretty much only wore black.
