Anyone here have/are having difficulties conceiving after a LEEP procedure?

After 10 months of trying, I finally go pregnant, but lost it at 11 weeks. We have a healthy 2 1/2 year old who was conceived after only a month, but this was pre-LEEP. I'm so frustrated.

I had a leep procedure in 2009. I didn't start TTC until 2011, but I was successful.

I had a LEEP at 22 I think, and I conceived at 24 while on birth control. Did they measure your cervix or say anything about needing a cerclage? Do they know if your misscarriage was due to incompetent cervix or not?

We tried to conceive my daughter for 3yrs and we got pregnant 2 cycles after I had my leep procedure done! With this pregnancy we didn't actually try or prevent but it took 5yrs for me to become pregnant again! Good Luck!

Nope. I lost it around 6 weeks, but didn't find out until 11 weeks. He said I had a lot of scar tissue, and I had to have silver nitrate put on a piece that was causing spotting and cramping during sex.

Having a LEEP shouldn't interfere with your ability to conceive but as a PP said, it can cause incompetent cervix. Have you also been having ECCs?

I don't think so. Maybe once, but not recently.

Every ECC you have further compromises your cervix. My cerclage surgeon believes this is why I have such an extreme case of IC (I've had almost 10 ECCs). Just make sure when you do get pregnant that someone is monitoring your cervical length as soon as you get to the second trimester. My MFM refused to look at my cervix before 18 weeks but I lost my daughter to IC at 16 weeks. I wish I had been a lot more proactive about it.

I think I might've just had one. I don't think I've had one since if bad LEEP. Unfortunately, OB didn't think I was "high risk" enough to keep me there without even having an an exam or ultrasound. I was being seen in Family practice. I live on a military installation, and I can't see anyone off post without a referral or changing my insurance. I don't want to change my insurance becuse I can't be seen at all on post or deliver there, and my husband is a Labor and Delivery nurse at the hospital her. It's frustrating because with the furlough that the Obama administration issued as affected my healthcare.
