From falling asleep at the breast? Keeping him naked and tickling his feet doesn't work. He is out just a minute in.. He is hungry but not staying awake..
my newborn kept on sucking even after she fell asleep..I just let her go, if you find out how to keep them awake though I'd love to know!
I use to change my sons diaper halfway threw the feeding. That seemed to help.
played with cheeks, hands... she fell asleep a lot though..lol
How are his kidneys doing? Did they end up doing a VCUG on him to check his reflux? Been thinking about you guys!
I'm having the same issue. Sometimes undressing him works, but sometimes not. I've been thinking of keeping a wipe on hand and rubbing his head/back with it if he falls asleep to try and wake him up. Haven't tried it yet, though.
Cool washcloth. Diaper change.
For me breast compressions and tickling the cheeks and chin worked pretty well.

I would wiggle my boob and push it in her mouth and she usually would start suckling again. She fell usually only nursed for four minutes or less a time when she was a newborn but fed often.
I have a question, how do you keep YOURSELF from falling asleep? I remember the first few days of feeding I had to force myself to stay awake, it was horrible! Not to mention Ill be on strong pain killers so baby and I will already be pretty sleepy.
