Crazy Labor and Delivery Keya F. Due June 24 (boy); Louisiana 23 posts

I was scheduled to be induced at midnight on June 21, 2013 at 2 to 3 cm dilated. Well when I finally got settled in my room at 1:30am the nurses came to start my piticon and IV. But, before the nurses could get my IV started my water broke on its on. I thought that was a great sign because I had planned to deliver naturally. At 7:00am I was checked by my doctor and had only made it to 5cm, then at 1 something pm I was checked again and was still only 5cm.The doctor said I could wait another 30 minutes or have a C-section. Well after all those hours of natural labor I ended up in section. It broke my heart because I really wanted to push my baby out. I just feel so depressed lately because the doctor said his head was in there tilted, but he only weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. I am hoping to have my next child vaginally, but I am afraid this will mess up my chances to ever have a child vaginally and I don't want to have any more sections.

Sorry it wasn't the labor/delivery you wanted. But... you got your baby out nice and healthy and that's truly all that matters in the end. I ended up with an Emergency C as well. Thankfully my doc is all for VBAC:) if yours isn't you can always find one who is or a midwife. Congrats on the baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not a very long labor at all for a first baby. I think it's pretty ridiculous that your doctor even suggested it without a medical reason.
And I understand that you're disappointed but you CHOSE a csection. If you didn't want one you shouldn't haven't chosen one.

Congrats on the baby even though it wasn't the delivery you wanted.

My son was an emergency csection at 37 weeks. And I'll find out in about 7 weeks how my vaginal birth goes with this baby.

Thank you and my doctor is for VBAC she was just stating to me how several mothers who end up in section schedule sections for their next deliveries

My doctor stated that since I was at 5 cm for four hours without progress and my son heartrate dropped twice much likely I wasn't going to progress and they didn't understand why until they did the section and realized his head was in the pelvic area tilted
