So DD will be four next month and has been potty trained for a year and a half. Lately she has been having a lot of accidents (since well before the new baby). She will have to pee and instead of going downstairs she comes up and tells us and says she is not peeing without her doll/hat/special socks etc. Or she will have an accident and say "I couldn't find the remote to pause my cartoon"
I'm not sure how to handle this as , I don't want to really punish her for it but she is up to like 2 accidents a day and I know that she knows better.
What to do?
Honestly, if she's having accidents because she won't go to the bathroom because she can't pause cartoons I would probably take cartoons away for awhile. Sorry for that run-on sentence lol.
My son is 5 and from time to time he has an accident because he doesn't want to stop playing a game. Every time it happens, he loses the computer for a day. It works for us and the accidents for the most part have stopped. There's a difference IMO between punishing them because they can't control an accident and taking stuff away when they're too busy to be bothered going to the bathroom.
