For those of you who use a window unit:

I have one in the living room and a blanket up over the door way so that it keeps the room cool. I'm debating whether or not I should leave it on over night because it took a while to get to this temperature or if I should shut it off and just turn it back on tomorrow?

What do you ladies do?

I leave mine on all night usually. But it will run up your electric bill.

That kinda makes me want to stop using it LOL. This is the first time I have to pay for electricity (usually included with my rent) and it's already $110 without it running.

If you're not in the room I wouldn't leave it on. Waste of money. I used to have one in a room that I used for work and it'd suck to wait for it to cool the room but I wasn't paying money to keep it cool all the time. Heck, I turn the central air off at night and we sleep under ceiling fans. We wake up to 88degree + house but we need to save money where we can.

I leave mine on because I'm pregnant and miserable.

That's why I leave mine on. It's included in my rent.

I'm getting pretty damn miserable, tomorrow I'm 39wks... and I'm from PA where our summer is 85 at the hottest without humidity. I hide inside and cry until it gets cooler in here lol

But still, I turn it off when we leave. The thermostat isn't working correctly, it runs until it's 70 in here... which is awesome, while we're here. But I"m not paying to keep it 70 while we're not here. x-x

Yeah the humidity is KILLING me lately. It's been god awful. My window unit pumps all the time. If I leave it off during the day ill come home to a sauna. So the extra cost is ok with me.
