Well if anyone here wants to put in an order I'd love to be able to get a start here..

I've just been afraid to ever sell anything in case I made a mistake, that would be super embarassing lol

like the first time my mothers friend ordered a hat for her baby it came out all wrong and the wrong size (I was just starting out back then though) but thankfully she said the shade of grey wasen't what she wanted, so the second one I made was perfect. So I didn't have to come up with an excuse on my own :P

I'd just do a 30 x 30. She keeps grabbing it as I try to measure it so I had to eye it.

I think it's adorable and a very creative pattern. It doesn't hurt to try. I feel like etsy is more about getting your name out there than anything else, so as long as you have the time to market them I think you could definitely make some money off your products.

Quoting Mandy Schlatterer:" Wait maybe my eyes are bad, but that looks knitted. Is it okay if the blanket is done in the same stich as the dress, and if so, what part, the skirt, tank, or middle?"

It looks like the top to me.

I'm not very versed on this stuff.

Do you want it pure pink, or edging in another color?

Pure pink. The one we placed it with is a seafoam green color. I much prefer the pink.

So it would probably help to list things very cheap in the beggining until that name was built...

I'm willing to spend up to three-four hours a day on making stuff, I'm at home anyways, so it could be like a job with my kids there with me :) I'd love that.

Would an expectation of earning up to $400 a month from sales on etsy be reasonable? I have no idea.

I actually don't think you should price things cheaply, no. People associate cheap prices with cheap quality. But I would probably do some incentives to purchase, like giveaways or raffles or something, and incentives for referrals as well, like refer 5 friends to purchase and get a free _____. Just keep posting on BG and let people get to know you on here and put a shop link on your profile, maybe make a facebook account and try to get 'likes', again use incentives.

I would price your items fairly for what YOU think you deserve based on cost of material and labor and the thought and effort that goes into creating your patterns. Don't charge more than fair market value but keep it in line with what others charge for similar products.

If you really pour your heart and soul into an etsy shop, stay up on trends and have unique stuff, you may be able to pull $400 a month, but don't be discouraged if it you don't have many sales at first.

Thank you for the advice!
Is there a fee to join etsy?

Nope, just a fee to list things that is paid once a month. I can't remember right off what it is. I want to say 20 cents per listing.

Here is another set, but I don't think it would be legal to sell because I chopped up a hollister tank top to make the dress and headband and it still has their logo on it lol.
