I had a post earlier, but no one replied.

Did you have a kidney infection when you were pregnant?
What were your symptoms?
What was the treatment?

I had a UTI a few weeks ago, and it was treated with antibiotics, but now I'm having some back pain in the middle/under ribs. Like an ache. Worse through the day, and a bath or position doesn't help the pain. It's constant.

I didnt have one when I was pregnant but I had a kidney infection two years and the pain you said you are experiencing sounds like what I went through. I dealt with it though for two months thinking it was just the normal cramping before my period but it never came so I went to to the doctor and had iv's and had to go on this medication two times a day for the seven or 10 days cant remember. It wasnt fun. Dont let yourself get to that point especially while pregnant if you have a kidney infection. It starts out as a uti then if isnt treated or not treated correctly ( get treated for the wrong diagnosis) it can spread to your kidneys. WOuld get yourself checked out just in case! Good Luck!

During my second pregnancy I had several UTI's and then a kidney infection. The pain you are describing sounds a lot like kidney infection pain. I thought at the time my pain was from working 9 hour days on my feet and just being exhausted from that. I finally gave in and went to the pregnancy triage unit and they said my urine was the most bacteria ridden they had ever seen. I developed a fever not long after getting there that stuck around for 3 days. My OBGYN had me admitted to the hospital and I spent almost a week there. After I was released, I was given macrobid to take everyday for the rest of my pregnancy. About a week later, I started having the pain again but so much worse. I went in to the hospital again and they said I didn't have an infection any longer but gave me an ultrasound on my kidney. They found that my uterus was completely blocking my right uterer(the tube that carries your urine to your bladder) and that's why I had so many UTI's and ultimately the kidney infection. They told me that if my pain continued or if I developed another infection they would put a shunt in to keep the ureter open so it drained my kidney properly. Luckily, I didn't need that surgery and slowly but surely started to get better. UTI'S and kidney infections can cause early labor so if you think that's what it is just go in to the hospital. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm due around the same time as you, and currently have a bladder/kidney infection. I'm taking amoxicillin 3 times a day until all gone. Hopefully it clears up soon, the occasional cramps and kidney aches suck alongside early pregnancy.
