Quoting JessieLeeAnne:" Does he qualify for unemployment? Also maybe try to food stamps? It will help yall out a bunch. He ... [snip!] ... the list for temp work at a local agency. It might be hard labor, but it will get yall by until something better comes along. "

Yeah he qualifies for unemployment. FS would thankfully not be needed, as I have a job.

It just blows man, being so used to something, and having it just ripped up from beneath your feet out of nowhere.

I used to worry so much about my husband losing his job because much of the time he's hired on a contract, which is always temporary and the funding can (and has before) be pulled on his project prematurely. But all that moving around has given him lots of contacts and a ton of experience. Since we moved here nine years ago he's worked in three state departments and should he need to, could go back to any of those three for a salaried position. He wouldn't have these options if he hadn't taken and lost the various contract positions. I know it hurts now but and I don't expect you'd find comfort in it but this could in the long run work in his favor. Chin up girl, you never know what's around the corner.

Thank you... <3 I hope this ends up to be a good thing. That's what he keeps saying, that he'll find something better, that it all happens for a reason, etc. I just hope he's right.

Have him sign up for unemployment, it will help him until he can find something better. As for you, breathe. It's going to be okay, it has to. Take a warm bath and listen to some music to calm your body and mind down.

Mine said the same thing. Sometimes it's hard believing that though!

It sucks I know :( Jason got fired for asking to be in the hospital with me for the day I had my csection and still doesn't have another job and it's been 6 weeks, and he's our only income. I'm sorry that happened :( It's never easy.

Similar to the reason my s/o was let go, except he actually WAS in the hospital. He wrecked his bike on his way to work. (He's totally fine, they just wanted to monitor him. Just had a minor concussion).

How are you all doing? Are there just no jobs in the area?

We are in a major hole. May get evicted on the first if the landlord is sick of being nice. He's applied for lots of jobs but got nothing.

Terra I'm so sorry you are going through this. Especially with a newborn I just can't even imagine. I really hope he finds something soon and that your landlord is willing to continue working with you.

Oh my gosh, how stressful! I so hope he can get a job soon, because we were on his insurance because mine sucks and takes such a huge portion of my income. So we'll be out of insurance by the end of the month. Sucks, because he takes a lot of medication that would be completely unaffordable without insurance.

I hope you all don't get evicted. Where would you go?

Our car or a shelter. My dad would never allow us to stay with them now.

Why not?

I'm really sorry you're going through that. I think I would have a nervous breakdown. You are stronger than me that's for sure. <3

He disowned us and forbid us from his home because I owe hi. Money and "haven't paid" him anything. I gave him $200 in February, $250 in march, $50 in may, and he disowned me in may.
