Water leaking... Cai[amw] Due July 25 (boy); 2 kids; Granite Bay, California 213 posts

This morning I got up after about 2 hours of contractions in the middle of the night that ended up fading.. I stood up and felt a funny trickle, walked to the bathroom and right as i go to sit a small clear gush happens.. I knew it was my water, it wasnt alot maybe a cup full. But its exactly how it happened with my daughter. I knew it wasn't pee cause I sat down after and went. I packed up went to L&D contractionless and they checked and said they can't get any more water to come out so go home, put this pad on and if it persists to come back in. Well, every once in a while I would get a trickle, enough to make me uncomfortable. I came back in again and got the worst nurse possible... She not only kept cutting me off everytime I tried to explain my answers to the questions she was answering but telling me that I was wrong in what I was saying.. -_- We waited a while to see if I leaked and I wasnt really. So she tested the pad and said its negative. Then preceded with more and more attitude when I told her I know that this cant be urine. She checked me and said She can feel the water bag intact. So... she called my doctor and persisted that she was right in every aspect and i was mistaken and felt it was best for me to go back home.. I was discharged AGAIN... and she came to me saying i needed to just go home and rest so I dont come back mistaken anymore. UGH! Anyways throughout the rest of the day every time I do something like pick something up or stand up from laying/sitting I get a tiny trickle..Barely enough to stay wet for more then 10 minutes. Im wondering if the water bag can be intact but have some kind of tiny tear or rip and not give out enough fluid for anyone to care. Am I safe till Monday at my Doctors appt? Im so upset about the last 2 visits today that I really dont want to go back for them to treat me like an idiot more.. The nurse also said not to come back unless a pad was soaked and dripping.. :/
so sorry for all that at once(vent)
but thanks for any responses in advance

It wasn't your waters. The test would have been positive, even if it was just a little trickle. It could have been thin watery discharge, not urine. There was no need for her to be rude, though.

Maybe it is a hind leak. Your nurse was incredibly rude.

I'm starting to believe that maybe it wasnt my water at this point either and trying to convince myself to let it go. With my first they took 3 tests and they all came back negative but ended up being a tear that once contractions started on pitocin completely ruptured the membranes. Thats why I am so frustrated. Im never going to truly know. Ive read you can go a while with it leaking though so the small chance it is im hoping to be very careful and call if necessary. all I can do at this point i guess. thank you, she really didn't it made things really horrible for me.

Next time request to speak to someone else. PLEASE do so if she is your nurse while you are in labor.

I really hope I dont have to have her as a nurse again or anyone like her. Im glad to not have to be put on pitocin but now im just tense and on edge about this whole thing.

If it makes you feel better, my water was broken for almost 2 weeks before I delivered and the baby was fine. No infection.

I know sometimes speaking up is hard for People, but don't let the hospital staff push you around. If you don't feel comfortable with someone, ask for another Nurse. There's no reason for anyone to be rude to you, or to make you feel uncomfortable.

They tried and tried telling my sister that her water hadn't broken, and it really had. They ended up having to do a test like a strep test to finally say that it really had. If you're uncomfortable going back, keep an eye on your temps to watch for infection! Wait til the next shift and try going back for another test?

Thats what my in laws said to do lol. they all called out sick this morning thinking that this was it. I feel so horrible and embarrassed about it now. I had a bad car accident at 34 weeks and was in the hospital trying not to have the baby and then at 37 weeks went back in because of bleeding... I only have my in laws and now I feel like the boy who cried wolf even though I'm sure they dont hate me for it because I cant control it. Still...embarrassing.

My water actually broke two times. I .guess it was partially broke then exploded. I had already had the epidural the 2nd time and was numb but I still felt it. Felt like a water balloon bursting...same feeling with both of my babies. They said it was weird that it broke twice, but it happens on occasion.

After the whole friday ordeal I decided there was no way i was going back to feel and be treated like an idiot and embarrassed over and over. So I have been very close in watching everything. I still am leaking, but nothing like friday. Only when I get up suddenly or move in a weird direction. I'm heading to the doctor today for my 39/40 week appointment. I'm hoping for good news and an explanation to what is really going on.
