I think its great to honor family.

But having said that I would make sure that's something your parents would be comfortable with. I lost a brother and I wanted to name Ds after him, but when I brought it up to my mom she said it would be too painful for her. She had a very hard time wig his loss. If effects everyone differently though, so before you get your heart set just make sure. :)

This. My brother is named after our two cousins that had passed. Dylan Cole. My dad asked ahead of time to make sure it wouldn't offend anyone. DS is named after my brother(living)

personally i wouldnt like that as the kid, but i agree with everyone else just check with your parents.

it kinda irks me that my one second cousin is named after my grammas passed husband. the kid never knew him (obviously), wasnt related to him except through marriage, is a little white boy named Donato, and idk...it kinda like steps on my image of Donato. like...who the hell is this kid?
of course its not my place to have an opinion in this certain matter but still.
and as the kid i would always feel in that persons shadow. always. knowing i was an every day reminder of such a great loss. a name is a lot to live up to.

We have asked his mother and father. And it was my mothers idea to name him ( if its a boy) after my brother. I made sure it would be ok with everyone involved. I just was not sure my self so thank you for your thoughts they are much apreceated. Thank you

I named my son after my recently passed grandfather. We call him by his middle name though, mostly because I felt at the time it was too soon to call him by his first.
