Quoting mαkαnαni:" I would do it. If a girl can have a boy's name, why can't a boy have a "girl's'' name, especially when it originated as a boy's name?"

Exactly! DH is being stubborn and is worried about teasing. That's ok. I have plenty of time to convince him!

Quoting linsα:" I can't, I mean it would depend on the name. I LOVE Addison. I had no idea people even used it for girls ... [snip!] ... them on a boy seems less likely to be a risk for teasing because they won't run into a girl at school with the same name. "

I'm not even trying to use it as a first name. I want it as a middle name. Outside of some official documents and getting in trouble, middle names are almost never used.

Mine is the same way. I wanted to use Aubrey, but I can't because he had the same reaction and my cousin is naming her daughter that. :x:roll:

 The list of names DH has turned down is insane, some of the reasons even more insane. For example, he turned down Eleanor because one of his dreams is to get an Eleanor Mustang. I guess he's worried about the rare possibility of having a child and a car with the same name. *headdesk* I suppose I should have expected that kind of thing from a mechanic. Lol.

Ha! Mine says no and can't/won't provide a reason for it. At least let me know why. He says I can name the girls, but when I bring up names all I hear is no. WTH dude?

He loves Eleanora for a girl. I don't. I prefer Eleanor. He doesn't. The only name we're agreed on is Finley, for a boy.

Most of the time he doesn't provide a reason. Every now and then he does. The reasons are all ones that make me go :x. Lol.

He's used the "sounds like a stripper name" line a few times, or that he knew a person with the name or it was the name of an area near where he grew up. Blah.
