Broccoli
Blueberries are just getting ripe. These are my baby plants. I planed one more. It's supposed to get 6 foot tall and 4 feet wide! It's viney and pretty.983828_10200639918233903_396297129_n.jpg

These are little yellow tomatoes. Now 5ft tall. And we get a handful every day. So sweet and delicious. Here, soon we will have to cook them or something because a lot are getting ripe all at once. I will post a pic eventually.

That garden cage to keep the deer out is six feet tall and the bushes are growing straight out the top. We haven't got many berries this year. Next year will be year 3 of transplant and we should get a good harvest. I added to it and now we have 20 plants.
we made a few rhubarb pies970136_10200639868392657_659416089_n.jpg

Picked 20 cups of blueberries from grandma's garden and made blueberry banana muffins with white chocolate chips and a bunch of other good stuff.995754_10200956492308057_638839085_n.jpg1003468_10200956578670216_364472139_n.jp1069996_10200958269472485_1921231553_n.j

Thank you! Just gotta jump in and do it. Read stuff online and talk to your local plant people (nurseries and such) actually, that might be fun for a field trip if we learn about plants in science this year with HOD. I was so afraid, but it's not rocket science :D it just takes the time to read and not be afraid to make errors.

Did you use good soil? I went to a landscape supply and bought good top soil, then mixed in a few shovel fulls of miracle grow. And they only need watered about every other day. (Tomatoes)

Blueberries are like a tree. But they take time to grow. If you plant now you won't get many for a few years, so the sooner the better. Same with raspberries.

Blueberries just get some good soil when your ready, dig a larger than necessary hole and then replace some of the removed dirt with the good soil, put the plant in and re-fill the hole around it and on top a little with the good stuff. We have a pile we put the 'bad' dirt in. And then the more you water the better.

When I use a bowl to wash produce or rinse dished I save it and dump it on the plants, as long as it's not soapy.

Raspberries need acidic soil, so I went to the local hardware store and bought three different types of soil with the help of the plant expert and mixed them all together, waited a few days and transplanted.

Did you know the leaves of the rhubarb are poisonous? Fun fact, I read it the other day. That's why there are never leaves on them in the grocery store.

Yup. I was gonna make a salad with them and mentioned it to my grandma and she about had a heart attack lol. Lesson learned. Always check if the leaves of the things you know are safe to eat if you want to try them :D

Ugh my pot garden looks even more measly compared to your gorgeous garden! I picked gypsy and jalapeno peppers from my gram's garden today (and two tomatoes, but she kept those) and I'm making jalapeno popper dip tomorrow. Mmm

Yum!! I'm starving lol

My garden started off two pots at my last duplex. I've been working hard on it since last year at this house. A pot garden sounds beautiful.

I will take pics tomorrow before we leave for our day out. If you're wondering "Why does she have to do that when there's all that yard in the background" we rent from our in-laws and they have two huge dogs who would just kill everything. We used to have a big garden across the street on their extra lot but so much went to waste because no one had time to weed, water, pick, etc. So we have tomatoes, bell peppers and cucumbers and then we get squash and zucchini from our neighbor who has a huge garden and then we pick through my Gram's too.

I actually wasn't wondering that at all lol.

I want to grow peppers next year. I didn't realize we could grow them here until recently.

Have fun tomorrow!
