If you went into labor on your own, did they still put you on pitocin at the hospital?

I REALLY don't want to have to use pit again, unless I need to. I've never gone into labor on my own, so I don't know how that works.

I remember my sisters water breaking, and when she got to the hospital they immediately hooked her up to pit.

They might try and give it to you just refuse it. Tell your doctor that you don't want it repeatedly from now till birth!

You can refuse pitocin. I was bullied into allowing them to give it to me as I pushed dd out. It's best to have your coach know your wishes to help you get what you want because I felt like in the moment the staff took advantage of me to get me to do what they wanted. I read a lot of books while pregnant and I think the best was husband coached child birth by dr Bradley. (The Bradley method) they should really change the name though because the focus is a coach if a husband is not your partner. Pushed by Stephanie block was also really informative. I know you weren't asking for books but I found those 2 to be really helpful and I was reading constantly while pregnant.

Yep they did. I dunno why. I ended up stalling at 7 cm. I wonder if the pit had anything to do with it....

I definitely want to refuse, I just hate how absolutely pushy they get about pitocin and c-sections. :x

They tried to bully me into a c-section with DD because I wasn't "laboring fast enough" for them. Thankfully she decided to start coming an hour before the c-section was planned.

This happened to my sister as well. She was stalled at an 8 for hours.

I was begging for a c-section and by the time they were like "Okay, you'll get one" I had to wait an hour because there was another lady already in the room getting a c-section. Now that I think of it.. there has to be more than one room :?

They were telling me I think its time for a c section and I was like I'm waiting longer come back in a hour to check me and still at a 7! So c section it was. And yeah there's 2 at my hospital

I went into labor on my own and I was never pushed into using pit. I had a midwife though so I don't know if doctors are more likely to push pit or not.

I got stuck at 3 and they said I might need a c section but I started progressing but then i got stuck again and I asked for one and they said no but then after 7 hours they finally said yes.

That's weird I was at 3 for a little while too. I was in labor for 17 hours total. That's crazy usually docs are quick to say yes!
