How did you announce the birth on facebook? Momma___ Due September 20 (girl); Japan 176 posts

How did everyone announce the birth of your baby on facebook? Did you include just the name and something like "He/she's here!"? I'm curious how other people have done this. Is it weird to include the birth weight etc.? What did you post? Any cute or unique ideas?

Lastly, how long did you wait before posting?

I'm looking for guides on etiquette and what other people have done. Did you announce when you went into labor too?

My facebook is friends only, no coworkers, some online friends/acquaintances and some random people from high school.

Haha. I posted "I'm having a c section" as they were wheeling me to the OR. Then I handed my phone off to a friend to keep everyone updated. In my defense, I was on meds that had me out of it.

We waited until both sets of parents knew he was here and seen a photo. And all our sisters had seen a photo. Then my partner uploaded a photo of him to Facebook saying his name, time and weight. :)

Also I never announced when I was in labor, but we did tell our parents... And my mum announced it wishing me luck. Lol

I updated all through labor with both girls, I have a TON of people on my friend's list from various mommy groups and it was just easier to post how many CM I was and such on my wall versus in each individual group since they all wanted to know. Lol. A little while after they were born I posted a picture saying "She's here! ______ was born at ______, weighed ________ and was ___ inches long." I waited a couple hours or so because I wanted to cuddle with them and such before I started messing with my phone/laptop.

Posted a status with his name and stats, then posted a few pics with different things in the captions ex. One had his name, another his DOB and the time, & so on. A status isn't going to stay forever that's why I did that with the pics
