Quoting Destinite:" Yes, there would be no question; I would do it in either situation. I'd also call the police and do it with them on the phone if necessary."
My friend who works for the humane society told us to do this.
Quoting Pregnancy Addiction:" I would assume if a window is being busted that it would imply the windows are rolled up lol. "
Not necessarily, the windows could be cracked.
Quoting .Christin.:" Not necessarily, the windows could be cracked."
Cracking a window doesnt allow for much air flow to lower the temp in a car.
Quoting Supafly★TKO:" :!: My biggest worry, though, is that I wouldn't be able to break it. I have no upper body strength at all."
This is me too lol. I think my 9 year old has more than i do lol.
Quoting Supafly★TKO:" Hell, my 4 year old probably does. I just hope that if I were ever in that situation, God forbid, ... [snip!] ... of weapon I could use. I guess worst case scenario is I'd run into the nearest store and get a dude willing to break a window. "
Yeah, it would be pretty scary actually having to be put in that position :(
I would call the police. I would not just break someones window as I could be arrested. The only circumstances where i'd do it, is if it was very clear that the child/animal was in obvious trauma and needed out of the car asap!

The pet's owner should be charged with animal neglect and abuse. I think the guy did the right thing.
Depending on the situation, I'd rescue a pet, but a kid? Right away, cops or no cops.
Quoting Faye's Mama-26 Weeks:" For a dog, I'd call the cops. For a child, break the window and then call the cops."
I'd do it for a child, and can actually see myself doing it for a dog.
I'd bust a window for a child or an animal(including cats in here too I've seen that as well ...) , immediately and without a second thought for sure if either the child or animal are in obvious distress, pain, or look like they're on death's door step. I'd call police first in any other situation, but for grave looking situations I'd have no second thoughts. I have a thing to break windows in my purse because I've left keys in my car before and had to call the police to have them come help me where now I can do it for myself instead, but also if someone leaves their pet or child in a car on a hot day, I'm not afraid to bust it open.
bust the window and then there face! don't be leaving animals or babies in hot cars!!
Do you all know how f**king hard it is to bust a car window... I doubt many of you could do it.
I'll bust a window for a dog or a child. I have a small hammer in my car for emergencies, it's meant to break windows if your car gets stuck or is under water, so no problem for me to do it. My only concern would be doing it so that it wouldn't rain glass on the animal or child and cause more problems than it solves.
I think anyone in their right mind would break the window if it were a child. If it was an animal, I'd just call the cops. Hope the car has an alarm & hit the shit out of the wheels till the owner comes out. If I get to see the owner I'd give them a huge piece of my mind.
