hmmm.. my daughter will be 11 months on the first and only says "ba ba ba ba" and random squeals and gurglng. but the "ba" is the only consonant sound she makes

it's starting to worry me that her speech is going to be an issue

No reason to worry. She is still young. Most of the time DS only babbles and makes lots of loud noises. He likes to growl and fake cough too. Then he will pop out a word every now and then.

All kids are different, and at 11 months, its very normal to not say actual words. She'll be fine!

Mum, dad, kitty, bus, bye, hello, drink, more, give, ta (how we say thank you), no, now, bad.

She started talking at 9 months.

My son was just babbling at that age not directed at anyone or anything.

Mama, dada, hey, hi, kitty, dog

She's 15 months now and can say over two dozen words consistently and correctly.

He started saying a couple directed words at 3 with therapy once a week. He is 3 1/2 now and starting to put two and three word scentences together. Though they aren't very clear and not many people know what he is saying. He has fluid in his ears (we just found out) though and they say that plays hand in hand with delayed speech. He knows what he's saying and will repeat it exactly like he said it.. But to a person who won't understand him it just sounds like gibberish. So they're thinking he just can't pronounce it, get it out properly and maybe that's what he's hearing.. All muffled so he says it muffled.

awe that's great though that he is starting to come along with his speech!
I'm just so obsessed with her development and comparing her to other kids. and i know it's wrong but I just want to make sure she gets the therapy she needs as soon as possible, if that makes sense. I stress myself out thinking I'm not doing enough She only see's a PT right now, nd we're on a wait list for OT

Sounds like she about average though... I don't know for sure because I haven't had an average child.. My daughter is a freak of nature and my son is delayed, but compared to other children I've read on here. She seems pretty average. It's normal to stress about your child's development though, you just want her to be on track and do what's right by her :) try not to over stress though.

This is what his conversations are usually like lol....

(Sorry am mobile)

I have no idea what he was trying to tell me.. It seems like "ticka" is a filler word.

I'd say if she is still just babbling and not saying a few words by 1 1/2 maybe look into speech therapy to get her started :) it has helped him a tonne.

My daughter is 10 1/2 months old right now and she says dad/dada, mom/mama and baby. She says those crystal clear almost. She points at her baby doll and says baby. She says "what?" but says it like "bwhat?" It's cute
