We have one and it's great, but we bought it brand new. Maybe if you can find out the brand of it you could call yourself to get the parts to make it fixed instead of drop side. Otherwise when you go to court, make sure it's brought up? I'm not sure how that works.

they were banned from manufacture and sale. He can get the kit to make stable and more safe.

I believe all drop side cribs were discontinued but you can get a kit with a few screws that makes it safe.

Yes, they were all recalled and are illegal to sell. You can, however, get the kit that others have mentioned, to make the drop-side secure. Mention this to your ex, and if he seems non-compliant, mention it to your lawyer...
At least he's trying, right? But if he wants to be a dad, he needs to be smart and safe about it.

We have one, it's old but still great. It was not one that was recalled, it has all metal hardware.

This may be helpful... maybe even print it and give it to your ex. Sometimes they take things better when they aren't being "told what to do" by their ex-wife. :)

You can contact the manufacturer and get a kit that will stop the sides from dropping. Although, I do have to say when my son was a baby (he is almost 5 now) he had a drop sided crib and I never saw what was so unsafe about them.

I have a Pali drop sided crib. It's great. And it was not recalled. But the drop mechanism is hard to use.
