How many names is too many names?? Mrs.Mud 6 kids; 2 angel babies; North Dakota 3314 posts

So IF this baby is a girl (hoping and praying, fingers crossed), we have too many names we want to use! How do you choose?!
I have always wanted to name my baby girl Anja. It's a German name (my heritage) and was actually supposed to be MY name, but my dad vetoed it. I think it's beautiful. I also love, love, love, the name Clarity. But we ALSO want to include our grandmothers, using their middle names. My husband lost his grandma almost 2 years ago to cancer and mine was just diagnosed with endometrial cancer 2 days ago. So that's 4 names that mean a lot to me/us. But it would get pretty long-winded.
Also, if I am going to use all 4, what order should they go in? Elise and Kathleen are not options for first name so there is going to have to be 3 for sure.

I think three middle names are too much, even if they have meaning.

If there's a chance of you having more children, I wouldn't use a name or two. What are their middle names?

If this is a girl, we're DONE! That's why it's so hard to choose! I should've just given our last boy girly names, lol.

I think your SO needs to veto Clarity.

That's too much in my opinion. Then again, I think a child should just have a first, middle and last.

I like Clarity, Anja, and Elise. Do Kathleen and Elise have other names?

That's way too many imo. I like Anja a lot, I love German names. I don't like Clarity at all. Katherine is beautiful and Elise is okay but I think Anja Katherine would be perfect.

Edit. I thought you said Katherine. :/ I'm not a fan of Kathleen but it's still okay.

I'd pick the two to honor your grandmothers and leave it at that. Or just pick your favorites but that's way too many names IMO.

I could do without it, it's the only one with no true meaning to our family, but I find it so pretty.

Anja Elise Kathleen flows pretty well, no...?
OR Anja Kathleen Elise...?

I like Anja Kathleen Elise, but truthfully IMO it's still too long.

My Nana is Marian Kathleen and his grandma was Lois Elise... so the first names are too old-fashioned for me, but their middle names are beautiful. Kathleen is also my first name, I go by Katy.

I think Anja Kathleen Elise can work. But yeah, I'd omit Clarity. :-)

I agree, it's way too much. But I'm having a really hard time choosing.

What will you do if it's a boy?
