Just a little vent... Liz +3 Due August 3 (boy); 2 kids; Alabama 171 posts

My ex husband & I divorced in March.
He's military and his girlfriend lives in Birmingham, Alabama which is about 7 hours from where he lives... Well the courts gave him 1 week out of every month for visitation until the girls start school and he has yet to see them for a full week. His excuse is he can't afford it but yet he can afford to travel 7 hours to see his girlfriend..... and he passes by where we live every single time. He never calls them and it breaks my heart when my girls ask questions.. My 2 year old doesn't really get it cause she's so young but my almost 4 year old is constantly asking why he doesn't see her or call.. I don't even know what to say. I've never spoken down on him to my kids but it's pretty obvious he wants nothing to do with them...... :( Sorry just had to vent a little...

I'm sorry. :( These men really have no idea the effect they have on their KIDS. They do it either to spite us exes or just because they don't feel like it but really they're just hurting their own kids.

I agree. He's hurting them more than anything really.. but I keep telling myself it's his loss because they are such amazing kids. I just try and show them they are loved and I hope they grow up knowing the truth instead of hating me for leaving there father. Sigh.

That's all you can do. Love your kids to the best of your ability and hope that they see how amazing they are and that their father missed out, not that they weren't good enough.
