He is almost 2 years old and he swells badly! He was bit by his eye and it swelled his eye shut...he was but on the arm and had a huge lump....we've had him tested for everything and there's no tall answer as to his severe reaction....we treat with cool compresses and Benadryl which helps alot and the bits have never affected his breathing....we have another son with bad reactions to and he's almost 3 but as he's gotten older his reactions are not as severe anymore....does anyone have any suggestions as to what can help....we already use big spray but i think we are going to have to start using it more often....thus is so frustrating....he always looks like he's been beat up...oh and if he can't scratch them they don't swell near as bad

My DD just turned 2 and she reacts TERRIBLE to then too! We just had her 2yr check up and she still had some bites from 2 months ago that bothered her. He prescribed us steroid cream to use on them. I haven't picked it up from the pharmacy yet but maybe ask your doctor. The more they itch/pick at the the longer they take to heal, they just keep inflaming the tissue by scratching. I feel so bad for her, i've never seen anything like it before.

I blame the Arizona mosquitoes!!

DD and I both have this issue. We use benadryl spray or cream. Not even Off works for us. :/

I have always been "allergic" to mosquitos. It has gotten somewhat better as an adult but it is still bothersome. Sadly there isn't much you can do.

My little brother had the same problem. My parents put a mosquito net around his crib and tried to keep them out of the house. He is 17 now and he outgrew it.
