We have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I am going to ask there but...

My 3 year old son (was 3 in March) has issues with his speech. He has gotten better at talking in the past year but still is way behind. We finally have him somewhat potty trained. He pees in the potty no problem... even through the night but will not poop in the potty. The biggest thing I am worried about is that when he gets excited he. Spazzes out. Like shakes his arms runs and growls. Autism keeps popping into my head but I don't think he has that. Idk. What do you mommies think?

I think three yo are hard to gauge. Autism testing is hard at that age and if he's not showing any serious symptoms they're prolly not gonna do much just yet. And idk what you consider to be behind in speech because for three yo a lot is still ck soldered normal. The easiest thing to do is get him a speech eval. I've been getting dds speech evaluated every yr since she's been 2 as precaution. She has yet to receive speech therapy. She might this coming school yr but they're not gonna evaluate til school starts.

My 4 year old is delayed. We had the same issues with speech and the potty - he wasn't fully trained until closer to 4. He does some crazy shit that I've never even heard of a kid doing but he doesn't have autism. He got a full evaluation and is receiving services that are really helping.
