How did you lose the weight? Blair Nealey 2 kids; Darlington, South Carolina 312 posts

A month ago my doctor put me on Adipex because I'm having a hard time losing the weight I've gained with my two pregnancies. Before my first pregnancy I was between 130-140 when I started the Adipex I weighed 198. I went back for my 4 week follow up and I have lost 8.5 pounds :)
So, besides the obvious cutting out sweets and such and exercising, what did you find helped you lose the weight?
Also, if you had an addiction to soda, how did you break it? I am ADDICTED to Pepsi and I am having a hard time breaking it.

This! I eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. Work out (at home) 3 to 4 days a week. Drink mostly water. I weigh less than I did before kids. 5'8 125lbs.

I haven't lost a ton yet but for me, moderation is working wonders. I need caffeine, so I try to get my fix from coffee more often than pop now. And I try to eat much healthier to make up for the calories in the pop I do drink. I walk and play outside with the kids, and don't deny myself indulgences. Theyre just fewer and far between.
I try to fill up mostly on veggies and fruit and meat, so I'm not snacking on crap all day long. I'm only 12 lbs down but for now this is working!

There's no special "trick".

I gained over 60lbs with my second, at 4 months postpartum I've lost almost all of it.
I only drink water and tea. I don't eat junk. If I eat sweets and stuff it's homemade with ingredients most people don't think of.
I walk or run up to 5 miles a day 5 days a week. I haven't had fast food in years.
Idk, I guess it wasn't that hard for me, I like healthy food. I find ways to make things, like pizza, with good healthy ingredients *shrug*

Kind of OT but have you tried making your own pizza crust from cauliflower? It's amazing, and pretty easy to make.

Also, I buy bottled water and get lipton 5 calorie green tea flavor drink mixes. I love pineapple mango. I only drink water now. I want to buy roller blades. Lol and a weighted hula hoop. I hate running. I am gonna have to read up on adipex. I am 5 foot 3 & 175-180.. I need to lose it

Well first question....

ARE you eating healthy and exercising?

Mind you "eating healthy" is a lot more than cutting out sweets.
