Last week I started eating healthier. SO is a soda junkie and the house is always stocked with all kinds of it. I just didn't drink any. I avoided juices, and only drank water. I cut out snacks. And focused on if I was actually HUNGRY or just felt like eating. When you actually pay attention to your body you'll be able to tell if you really need to eat or just "want to". That was my main problem. Last week alone, without any exercise (aside from chasing my minion) I lost 2 pounds. It really doesn't seem like a whole lot. But you figure, no exercise and just healthy eating for the next few months and I'll be down 24 pounds.
Honestly. I don't want to lose my baby weight (from both of my girls) to be "skinny", or even "look like I did before". I just want to be healthy. Being overweight comes with health risks. And coming from a family with high cholesterol, blocked arteries, heart attacks and strokes, diabetes, etc, I NEED to be HEALTHY for my kids.

I've lost 50 pounds in the last four months. I did it by slowly cutting things back or out and exercising. I started slow and built my way up. Soda wasn't hard for me to give up, I drink coffee and water and protein smoothies. Don't keep junk food around, or soda. It's much easier to give up if its not accessible.

This too! Will power is incredibly hard to gain back once you've been used to the "eat whatever I want to eat" attitude. SO keeping soda in the house actually makes me feel good, because I know I can go without it.
We've never really bought "junk" food. Unless I was pregnant and craving something special. The only "bad" food I have to worry about is when SO has a day off and wants to order a pizza. And even then, one slice a week won't kill me. You just have to know when enough is enough, and if you're actually hungry or just "wanting" it. I've tried counting calories, fad diets, water "detox", etc. And all of those are crap, you deprive yourself and then binge eat later. Just go for "healthy", don't bother with "skinny".
