#1- Is it possible for a kid to test into grade K before normal age if they are ready and willing?

#2- What is the K testing?

#3- Is it possible for a child to skip K and go to 1st, if they prove ready and willing?

No reason. Just curious. My kid's 2, so we are nowhere near close to that. Just a question.

Lola Jessup would know. PM her if you don't get any responses.

I don't think testing is just because you feel like it. We were going to see if we could get Heathen to start this year instead of next year. Her birthday is in November, and way after the cutoff. We would have had to get her tested to see if she was 'ready' for Kindergarten. And it's not really knowledge based. It's more if they're ready on an emotional level.
And I don't think they can skip grades until about 3rd or 4th grade.

Not sure how it is now but when my husband was in first grade they had an issue with him finishing his work way before all the kids and being disruptive in class so he skipped the 2nd grade and went straight to 3rd.

yes you can. my daugther could have done this but we decided not to until she is older as shes not socially mature enough yet and quite small physically. shes going into third grade now and she does "special" classes every day for a hour where she goes into the next grade ups class. we MIGHT skip to 5th after this year, but it just depends.
