He refuses and I can't afford to take him back to court over it right now.

Here if they are under school age it is every weekend. Once they are school age you can get it changed to every other usually. But when I tried talking to him about it he just got pissed and stopped paying child support.

What a douche. I guess standard here is every other weekend. Idk anyone who has it differently unless they agreed to it. Do you have a case with the child support system so they'll take it out of his check? That way he can't just stop paying bc he's pissed. I'm starting to be glad I live in a "mother" state.

If he's not paying child support, he can go to jail.

They were supposed to ages ago but they haven't. My mom says they are bad about making parents pay child support here.

Yeah the problem is they wait until the are way freaking behind and you are harrasing the shit out of them before that happens. My mom said she called the child support enforcement office every week for a year before they did anything about my step dad's x. And she hadn't paid a dime the entire year for five kids. When they eent to court over it the judge lowered the amount owed and lowered the child support amount every month. And its not because she couldn't afford it. Hell she never even tried to pay.

5 Grand seems like an awful lot to be behind though...and I'd start calling now and harassing them if it's a long process. Don't let him get away with not paying it because he got pissed off and decided to stop. Do what you need to do.

I understand it may sound easier than it is, but it is doable.

That's crazy. Mine took 1.5 months to start coming. If they know where he is, ect.. there should be no problem. They need to step their game up!
