OPK help? JADMommy TTC since Apr 2013; 2 kids; 4 angel babies; Pennsylvania 1264 posts

So I've been trying to use OPKs to track my ovulation to try to TTC and I'm not sure if I am using them correctly or how exactly they work. I took one on Friday through Sunday, all negatives. I took one Monday morning and it looked as though the line was just as dark as the control line. I DTD yesterday 3 different times. I took one again this morning and it was a clear negative again.

Now my question, did I ovulate yesterday or is that telling me I am going to ovulate within the next 12-36 hours? If I DTD again tonight, will it even be worth it in the TTC aspect? I keep seeing people having positives on their OPK for 2-3 days but mine lasted only 1 day (and I wasn't aware that I was supposed to text multiple times a day!). Any advice? TIA!!

If you had one that was as dark as the control line it is positive. But it has to be the same or darker. Another tip is, LH takes a bit to build up in your system so don't test in the morning. Test 12-2pm.

So does that mean yesterday I ovulated and today its done and I'm outside my TTC window? I never tested in the afternoon because I heard that you have to hold your pee for 4 hours beforehand. I drink too much to hold my pee for longer than an hour and a half max.

You are supposed to O 12-48hrs after your positive opk i believe. DTD tonight def!! It takes time for the egg to move through your tube as well:) GL!

totally normal to get a negative after a positive, quick surge:)
