How often did your kids get sick after starting school?

Cora starts kinder in a few weeks and I am so worried about her being sick all the time.

She has never been in daycare or preschool before and everyone says that she'll get sick really easily at the beginning of school.

My son was only sick 1 time last year and had to miss 1 day of school.

When dd started daycare it felt like she was always sick with a runny nose it would clear up and a week later back it would come. It was just little colds, not sick enough to stay home or change her mood overly, but noticeable. After a cpl mths it stopped being so frequent. It's been a few months now and she just caught another one but Mommys to blame this time not daycare, picked it up on vacation lol

My son was 6 weeks early, formula fed, in daycare from 6 weeks old, and rarely has been sick in 7 years.

My daughter was breast fed for 6 months, in daycare from 3 months old, and has been sick constantly in her 17 months on this earth. I'd say once every 2-3 months this girl catches something.

Soooooo honestly it could go either way. Both of my kids are/were exposed. One got sick and one didn't.

Carson went to daycare, he brought home ear infections (often double), hand, foot, mouth, strep throat...

I think that's it. It was pretty often. I think he gets sick more from his dad's house than he did from daycare though.

Cora has rarely been sick. Only a couple "serious" illnesses" (2 ear infections, a couple UTI's, and one bout of HFM)

she's had little illnesses (cold that last a day or two, or random bout of puking)

I just hope she isn't constantly sick

Aiden started pre-k last Thursday and got sick on Monday :? Just a cold (cough and scratchy throat mainly).

I'm hoping it was just a coincidence and it isn't an indication of how the whole year's going to be, but I dunno.

My son was constantly sick the first year he started daycare. However, he was only 2. At 2 I think they actually aim snot for each others faces, drool, sneeze on each other, etc. by kindergarten kids are better about that.

I don't know about that. The other day my kid got pissed off cause another kid was touching her face and she l****d him lol

the other kid totally deserved it.

I just get so anxious when she is sick. It makes me feel crazy

Mariah did a kindergarten camp for two weeks, and is finishing out her first week of school today and so far so good, other than her allergies which would've happened without school. She's like Cora.. No preschool, daycare, etc

Good to hear

A lot of people (mostly older people) are telling me that she'll get so sick all the time cause she has never been around kids like this before.

I'm worried about it too. My almost 4 year old is starting preschool next month and my DH is starting a part time job during those hours. If DH wasn't starting this job it wouldn't be a big deal if LO got sick and had to stay home, but now if he gets sick, one of us will have to stay home with him and it'll probably be me since I get PTO and I really hate calling in to my job because there's no one else that can fill in for me and I hate to leave them hanging.

Carson pushed a little a*****e off a ladder the other day at the playground. He kept making fun of Carson because he's little for his age and then he was standing at the top of the ladder going "push me!!! push me!!!" so he did.
