Doesn't matter it is a free house. Be grateful or go buy your own place and give that one to someone who would be thankful for it.

Then you acessorize however you can to make it workable to you:) Cosmetic things don't matter, as long as the house if functional for you and your family. And there is no reason you would never be able to replace or change something....

I would learn to love it then.

Depends on if I get a craft room or not. I might be able to deal if I can have a place to store all my crap with out the kid getting into it.

There's the answer I was looking for. You all are dismissed.

A remodeled house, or YOUR house remodeled for free?

If it was your house, and you liked how it was before, haha. I'd be unhappy.

If it was jsut any house, well, it depends. You can be grateful, but at the same time you don't have to keep something you don't like. Someone can give me a fiat, but that doesn't mean I want to keep it just because it was free. I'd probably keep it and save up for a different house if I really hated it.

I think you can be thankful and show gratitude, but that doesn't' mean you have to keep a gift you hate.

This was my thought process. There are other aspects that factor into it too, like is it a perfect fit in every single other aspect? Space wise, yards, all of that. Because if so, I'd learn to live with the ugly lol. If not, I'd use it like a "starter home" of sorts and save for my dream home while not having rent and whatnot.

Exactly. I mean, depending on what it was, well, just because something is free doesn't make it good for me. If someone gave me a remodeled totally traditional 1 bedroom house for our family for 4, it would bel ike. . .. I appreciate it, it's a very nice gesture, but it is completely not right for my family. Just because it's free doesn't' mean it works for us.

You should be grateful, but it doesn't mean you should feel forced to use something you hate just because it was a gift.

Floors and countertops are easy to replace, but if I didn't like the house all together, then I'd just sell it.

If I didn't have a house I'd be thrilled no matter what. I am happy with what I already have though & it's paid off. It isn't perfect & there are things I'd like to change here, but nothing that I hate.
