experiences? I have my appointment to get it tomorrow. I really wanted nexplanon, because I didn't want a period, but insurance doesn't cover that.

I haven't really heard that many bad things. just a few people who said it made their bleeding wicked bad.

Overall I love it.

My periods are the same length, they start light, get heavy for 2 or 3 days, then light the remainder of the time. I rarely cramp (like a day before my period maybe & it's very mild). I have been late twice, 10 days both times, but after doing extensive research on their website, it states its possible for you to miss a period it have no period. Overall my experience is awesome. I've had it for a year & a half, insertion was a breeze, didn't feel anything, but I bled like 7-10 days after the insertion. I got it at 6 weeks PP.

I got mine this past November, so 9 months now, and I am really glad I got it. The first 3 weeks after I got it put in I bled and cramped really badly, but ibuprofen helped a whole lot so it was tolerable. My first several periods after getting it in came on a regular basis but were super heavy and I cramped a lot. They've really gone back to normal now though, I don't cramp any more and they are not so heavy. I plan to have it in for a long time so I am so glad I went with this, just hope it doesn't give me issues later though, the biggest negatives I've heard about them is sometimes they come out, but that is super to be very rare, and it going through the uterine wall, which is also supposed to be super rare. Also the occasional pregnancy, since no BC is 100% and all. But it's like, over 99% effective when it's placed right. It's good to have an ultrasound after getting it to make sure it's in properly.

I'm on the verge of getting it removed, purely because my periods are fucking AWFUL. I bleed straight through super mega uktra tampons in an hour or less. Cramps are awful, and my period lasts 7 days and comes every 3 weeks. I was super light prior to paragard and periods only lasted 3 days. Its BS. But other thsn that I have had zero side effects and havent gotten pregnant.

see that's the only con i've seen. the heavy bleeding. my bleeding is pretty bad latelly, but I'm only on my 3rd period 3 years PP. i think that adds.

well and a lot of ppl complain of worse cramps and pain at ovulation as well. but those three things are minimal to the fact that I am protected and can not accidently forget or anything. I am bad at remembering things so this really helped

i'm used to really bad cramps. before kids, they were at the point of me not being able to go to school. I would be on the floor crying, or hunched over the toilet puking.

i hope! I'll be able to do this for a few years, then tie my tubes. I'm bad at remembering things too, so this is my best bet.

I had paragard between E and this pregnancy. Loved it. My period was heavy but manageable with a divacup.
