Does anyone have any experience in dentistry? I have a question.

What is your question?

DH is deployed, on a ship. He had a dental check up. Dentist pulled a tooth because the dentist said it was causing him to bite his cheek and it wasn't touching the molar below it.

Is this truly a valid reason to pull a perfectly good, healthy tooth?

DH has never experienced any cheek biting, and no other dentist has told him he needs to or should get this tooth pulled.

Quoting GoldenGirls:" DH is deployed, on a ship. He had a dental check up. Dentist pulled a tooth because the dentist said ... [snip!] ... DH has never experienced any cheek biting, and no other dentist has told him he needs to or should get this tooth pulled."

I would say no, because I bite my cheeks often and my teeth don't touch. Someone just wanted some money, and to cure their boredom.

That's what I thought, also. I feel so badly for him. His teeth are really healthy. He brushes and flosses 2-3 times a day.
