Baby size @ 20 weeks Momlette of 3 Due December 25 (girl); 3 kids; Ohio 25513 posts

Have you ever been told at 20 weeks that you'll be having a smaller baby? My previous kids were 8.2 and 8.4lbs and at their anatomy scan everything was easily visible and all. This pregnancy they said they couldn't see everything they needed to see and that I needed to come back. Said that she was measuring right on but that she would probably be a smaller baby (guessed about 7lbs) I've never heard of a baby size guess at 20 weeks lol And if she's measuring right on weeks why would she be smaller? Im nervous that I have to come back for a second ultrasound for anatomy, I've never had to do that before. I know they said head size and heart looked good so that's good at least....

Anatomy is performed around 18-22 weeks a fetal U/S allows them to look further!

They didn't really say. I've only ever had one done and that's that. They just said they'd redo the ultrasound in 4 weeks when baby is bigger. But I've never had baby be "too small" during the 20 week ultrasound.

I just had the same issue yesterday at my anatomy scan. I have to go back in 2 weeks because they couldn't get all the measurements they needed either. My baby is measuring behind by a few weeks though, so if yours is measuring normal I'm not sure how they are predicting her small lol.

This baby is measuring ahead by a few days, but within the same week so we're not too worried at all. Anyways, she was measuring around a pound and about 12in which is average for 20 week scan. Did they estimate her weight during the scan to what she currently is by chance? If you're worried about the results/scan, call the OB and talk about it. I promise they won't be mad.

They didn't say anything about a weight estimate *sigh* I go back the 9th so maybe they'll clear some things up for me.

my son measrued like that when I was pregnant and they made me go get ultrasounds every 4 weeks just to keep a check on him. You have nothing to worry about.

How big was he when he was born? Mine were always fairly big. First was 21 1/2 and 8.2lbs and my son was 20in and 8.4lbs
