Yea reading stuff on the internet and seeing children pass away at an early age, I hear all kinds of different stuff from different people. My boyfriend is behind what I choose 100%, I'm going to stop stressing and wait to hear back next week on my results. I'm sure I will have one healthy boy :) Thanks everyone for your feedback!

I wouldn't stress at all. It's beyond your control and you take life as it comes.

I just looked it up. Could find a reliable source but read a forum of cfers and they said they can pass pseudo I think they said (I closed it :( boo). They recommend the three foot rule when being around other cfers and not going around when they are sick obviously.

My daughter Jessi has cf. My husband and I did not even know we were carriers until she was born. She has 2 other full siblings and 4 half siblings. None of them have cf. What mutations do you guys have. That will give you the start of an idea if the baby will have a chance at having mild cf. There are some mutations that only cause cf if they are paired with a disease causing mutation. J is 1 6.5 months old and has only been hospitalized when she was first born since she had a blockage and needed surgery. She is happy and just as crazy as her brothers and sisters. If you have any questions I can tell you what I know.

cf patients can't be around each other since they carry bugs that they can spread to one another.

I've known CF patients and this was not an issue.

When my oldest was 8 months they thought she had cf too but she didn't it ended up being another lung problem. She outgrew it and is now a healthy 8 year old . How is your little one during?

People with cf are advised to avoid other people with cf. Strongly advised. If they are in the same immediate family that is another story. They are very careful at our clinic to make sure that there is no cross contamination.

Jessi is doing pretty good. We do her treaments everyday and make sure she takes all her meds. Last winter was rough with lots of colds but all the kids kids had colds. She just needed antibiotics to get over hers. In a couple of weeks we will have a better idea of how her lungs are doing. She will be doing an infant pulmonary test. She has lots of trouble gaining weight. She has has had some problems with intestinal blockages. However we got that worked out by adding a new med and I just keep a close eye on how everything looks.

Thank you for asking how she is.

Hello TBear, I appreciate your information, all I know is that my bf and I both have 1 gene (same gene). I got my amnio results back and my little peanut is only a carrier and does not have the disease! I couldn't be more happier :) So glad to finally enjoy my pregnancy now.

Quoting Intrepid Detective Munch:" Don't worry Hun. I've known a couple kids with cf and they're fine just might end up in the hospital ... [snip!] ... normal kids they just aren't supposed to be around other kids with cf I've been told (not sure how that works with siblings)."

CF is different for different people. The life expectancy is much higher than it was just a decade ago. Closer to 40 now. It's a sodium deficiency. But medicine has come a long way in a short period of time. Never heard anything about cf patients not being around other cf patients.

My boyfriend has Cystic Fibrosis he is 29 years old. People with CF are not alowed to mix with each other due to the spreading of infections. Everybody's CF is different and not one person is exactly the same ad another. You need IV therapy when you are poorly which can mean a two week stay in hospital or you can usually have home IV s. There is no cure as yet, basically your organs are covered with a thick sticky mucus which makes it difficult to breath and bacteria gets trapped in the lungs . It manly effects the lungs but also effects the digestive system which is why patients take Creon with a meal. My boyfriend has also developed diabetes due to his CF. It is a terrible illness which has taken many a young life , and on many cases a lung transplant is the only hope. But I must say that myself and my man have a wonderful life together and always make the most of ever day , I wouldn't change him for the world, all the best Xx
