EDD Off Enough to Cause Problems? user banned

My LMP is January 1st, but I had an abdominal CT performed on January 28th to prepare for an upcoming surgery. There was no pregnancy evident (something my doctor pointed out since she was AMAZED that I ended up pregnant just two weeks later lol) but when I went to have the procedure about 10 days later, the preemptive pregnancy tests came back positive.

At one of my first ultrasounds, they said that my uterus was measuring "two weeks behind".

Now it's fluctuated between them telling me that it's a week behind or right on schedule.

I am not a VBAC candidate so I have to have a scheduled C-Section and I'm pregnant with a boy. If my EDD is wrong, is there a chance that having a C-Sec at 38-39 weeks could result in him spending time in the NICU from under-developed lungs? =[ I don't want to have to have the surgery until 40 weeks at least but I'm considered high risk so I don't know how far my doctor will let me go.

How long CAN you go if you absolutely NEED a repeat C-Sec? Would they let me wait until 41 weeks or so to go into labor just to make sure the baby is developed enough?

TIA!

I have a friend who was also not a vbac candidate due to a junction scar and she was allowed to go to 39+4, so pretty close to 40. I think the doc's preference was between 39 and 40 and the convenient day was just right in the middle.

They usually let you go as far as your 39th week. So somewhere in that time.

With my second pregnancy my doctor let me go to 40 weeks to the day but I was a VBAC candidate and was going to attempt one. With my third my doctor (different OB) would not let me go to 40 weeks. I had asked because I had 2 kids already born the end of Nov I just wanted to make it to Dec with her but I was due Dec 2nd. She was delivered at 39w 4d.

That's what I was thinking. =/ If my development really is off by as much as two weeks I guess that it wouldn't be terrible.. I just wish I wasn't forced to evacuate the little guy.

Did they do a dating ultrasound?

My edd based of lmp was 19 August. Based off my ultrasound it was 27th. Both my early one (7 weeks?) and 12 week supported 27th so that's what we have used. The earliest I could have booked my c section was after 38 weeks goin off the later date. ( but I'm a vbac candidate so opted for that)

I would try and book for 39 weeks. If the baby is only 37 weeks gestation he will still hopefully be fine. My daughter was 37+1 and was gone except for having low blood sugar

They did, but I'm high risk as is and have had pregnancy issues in the past so they said it was safer to assume it was the development that was the issue and not a wrong date? IDK. I didn't press it at the time because I thought I could qualify for a VBAC, the EDD changed but I forgot what to. Now that I know I HAVE to get a C-Sec it's starting to kind of make me nervous.

That sucks sorry :(

I would just ask for the latest date they feel comfortable giving you.

Yeah. Also I forgot to add that I have PCOS and endo, so when my doc asked "Do you know how rare it would be for your dates to be THAT off?" I was like "Not very." LOL
